Welcome to Footprints!

Welcome to Currigee Footprints. This website is for you – the residents of Currigee. Hopefully you will find all the information you need to make your stay on the island even more relaxing. The site should become your ‘one-stop-shop’ for local information and perhaps for meeting new friends. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find as you explore the website.

Contacts
Here you will find contact details for all your island neighbours, as well as a list of those other important people associated with gas supply, Council matters, barge and taxi services, etc. (No longer will you have to print out the Residents’ Address List each time it changes, and then not be able to find it because you have taken it to your ‘other’ home.)

News
Never again will you have to hold out for a good read in your semi-annual edition of Footprints. Stories and news items will be added as they come to hand – hot off the press! Just go to ‘News’. (When important notices go up on the site, you will receive an email advising you to log on.)

And this is where you can help! At any time of the year you can forward your contributions to our Webmaster, Nick Christie. (Just go to ‘Contribution Form.)

Resources
No longer will you have to lug that old superseded double bed or refrigerator all the way to the dump, bemoaning the fact that it still had a few good years left in it. Now you can advertise items for sale (or to give away); beg for wanted items; announce ‘lost and found’ bits and pieces; share barges; etc., etc. Just go to ‘Resources’ and browse the “Trading Post”, or send your ‘ad’ to Nick.

Landcare
Keep up to date with what’s happening on the island in relation to its vegetation and wildlife (including our very special turtles.) Look for regular jottings about the wildlife produced by the Environmental staff at Couran Cove.

Currigee Stories
Here you’ll find contributions from island residents. These will include topics about the island’s history, its people and yourselves. There’s already one great story there, and watch out for more stories about ‘Currigee Families’ coming your way soon. If you’d like to write such a story – how you first discovered the island and any interesting anecdotes from your experiences at Currigee, please put pen to paper and send it to Nick here (before you are press-ganged into it by the Committee).

Contact Us
This is the best place to contact the committee for asking questions, making suggestions, and requests for information, etc.

Contributions

If you want to contribute any photos, or stories (or anything else, including for the Trading Post), about any upcoming events (or anything else) to the website, please do so here.

Archive
Here you will find all previous newsletters, committee meeting agendas and minutes, Council newsletters and other relevant communications.
